The recent high school graduate plays Zoe Murphy in the Broadway production of the Tony-winning musical.
Mallory Bechtel, who recently joined the Broadway company of the Tony-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen, performs a solo version of the musical's "Requiem" in the video above. Tony-winning orchestrator Alex Lacamoire, who penned the arrangement, is featured on piano with Dillon Kondor and Tim Basom on guitar and Todd Low on viola.
Bechtel, who graduated from high school three months ago, plays the role of Zoe Murphy at the Music Box Theatre.
The current company of the Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and Steven Levenson musical also includes Taylor Trensch as Evan Hansen, Lisa Brescia as Heidi Hansen, Jennifer Laura Thompson as Cynthia Murphy, Alex Boniello as Connor Murphy, Michael Park as Larry Murphy, Sky Lakota-Lynch as Jared Kleinman, and Phoenix Best as Alana Beck. Michel Lee Brown plays the title role at select performances.
The national tour will kick off this September in Denver before going on to play 50 U.S. cities.
